Rick Arelis
Rick brings a vast array of musical knowledge and experience to Kool
Guitar Skool. Rick started touring western Canada as a guitar player in
the 80s. In 1992 he started his own production company and was a
sound engineer. During this time he worked with several recording acts
including 54-40, Prism, Trooper, Honeymoon Suite, The Headpins
Toronto and many more. One of the highlights during this period was
doing sound for Nickelback.
Another highlight would be Ah Bee Normal
a local band of which Rick was a member open for most of the
recording acts as well. Ah, Bee Normal was a mainstay in the Lethbridge
music scene for 20 years with a strong local following.
Rick began teaching at a young age and has continued teaching over the
years. In the 80s Rick was both a coach and referee for the LMHA. He
was also a district manager at the Lethbridge Herald where he
developed valuable skills in both managing and developing working
relationships with youths, and adults. Rick’s combined experiences
make him an excellent choice as your guitar teacher.

Children will learn how to read music through Alfred’s New Guitar
Course. This is the most effective way to develop a wide range of musical
knowledge including learning the notes on the fretboard as well as
being able to count and have superior timing skills. This combined with
music they can relate to leads to speedy progress.
Teens/Adults fast track your learning experience through lessons
designed to help you improve your skills whether you are a
beginner or have been struggling with YouTube videos. Having a coach
or teacher gives you a path to developing techniques and knowledge in
a systematical approach along with accountability to achieve the results
you are looking for.

All students will acquire fretboard knowledge , general music theory
and ear training. Guitar playing has become a trend for self
improvement. Playing guitat is a great way to entertain yourself, as well
